Course Registration

Before enrolling in Common Courses among Different Graduate School, Courses Open to Graduate School Student, and Courses offered at the other Graduate Schools, please be sure to check the registration schedule and the instructions as below. Please note that a course cannot be dropped once your registration has been confirmed. Some courses required of Audit/Course Enrollment Fees, which must be paid by a stated deadline.

*Most of the courses offered by the Global Education Center are conducted in Japanese and N1 level of Japanese proficiency is required to take courses.Registration is not recommended if you cannot understand what the syllabus of each course says, as it will be difficult to keep up with the classes.

Common Courses among Different Graduate School

These courses are University-Wide Open Courses for Graduate School Student. These are opened to register for Graduate School Student since First Registration Period.

These courses are targeting Undergraduate Student, but open for Graduate School Student as well.

* For details about each course, refer to the Web Syllabus System. * As the course registration for undergraduate student is scheduled before your First Registration Period on Spring Semester, some courses may have no available seat at the time of First Registration Period for Graduate Student.

Course Registration Instructions

  1. Read your own school’s Course Registration Guide to familiarize yourself with your school’s registration schedule, registration procedures, rules and procedures for awarding course credit, and other matters pertaining to academic planning and course enrollment.
  2. Consult the Web Syllabus System, Course Lists, Learning Map, or other ways to choose your courses.
  3. Register via MyWaseda during the registration period designated for your Graduate School.
    * If you are registering by proxy, please complete the paperwork and procedures required by your Graduate School.
    * If the number of registrants for a course exceeds its capacity, students will be selected for enrollment by lottery or on the basis of their “reasons for enrolling in this course.” Be sure to fill in the “reasons for enrolling in this course” field, if necessary, when you register online. Applicants for a few courses may be screened by interview.
    * Language courses under the headings of “Tutorial English and Other Practical English Courses” and “Chinese Courses” cannot be register for during second registration owing period on spring term and third registration period on fall term to their class composition. Be sure to register for these courses before above period.
  4. Check the results of your registration as soon as you receive your registration confirmation from your Graduate School.
    * Courses for which you were not accepted for enrollment will be indicated with the notation “Not Accepted” (Sengai) on your registration confirmation.
  5. Check the amount of Audit/Course Enrollment Fees for the enrolled courses and make payment by the designated deadline.

“Course List of Courses offered by Other Graduate Schools” are opened to register for Other Graduate School Student after the registration of their own Graduate School Students. So some courses may have no available seat at the time of your registration period.

Payment of Audit/Course Enrollment Fees

You must pay the total amount due for the semester as recorded on your Audit/Course Enrollment Fee Reciept (partial payments are not accepted). No late payment or refunds will be accepted under any circumstances. Failure to pay Audit/Course Enrollment Fees by the deadline will result in exclusion from the course and may lead to a drop in your priority ranking if selected for enrollment by lottery next time you register for courses.
*Please note: Enrollment in multiple courses with Audit/Course Enrollment Fees can lead to additional costs in excess of 100,000 yen. Before you register, be sure that you are able to pay the required Audit/Course Enrollment Fees by the stated deadline.
