Undergraduate Graduate Faculty
Data science course consultation Waseda University provides students with the opportunity to learn about data science based on the individual interests and objectives of each student. Advice is offered on matters such as which subjects to take.
Support for data science learning from Learning Assistants (LA) Students can approach the Math and Stat Center (Waseda Campus Building 3, 2nd Floor) if they have any questions or difficulties, such as in classes on statistics or data science.
Certification Program in Data Science The Certification Program in Data Science endorses and certifies students’ proficiency in data science based on four levels. By clearly setting out the targets to be attained at each level, it provides students with the opportunity to learn about data science in a way that matches their individual interests. Students who have fulfilled the requirements for each level are presented with a certificate.

Educational internships Educational internships in the field of data science are offered in cooperation with corporations.
This program is conducted as a part of the “Affiliated Internships” program offered by the Career Center.
D-DATa course registration D-DATa is an educational program for graduate students. This program aims to nurture Master’s and doctoral human resources with a high level of expertise and data science knowledge, and providing support for the application of data science in their fields of research, for the development of new areas of research, and for the enhancement of their careers.
D-DATa Consultation Office Students participating in D-DATa are welcome to consult on matters such as how to study statistics and data science, and how to apply these to their own research.

D-DATa Career Consultation D-DATa offers consultation services for the career design of graduate students.
Data Science Research Consultation Demonstration and validation through data is becoming increasingly important in all research fields across the sciences and humanities. The Center for Data Science welcomes research-related inquiries and consultation from all faculties of Waseda University, and provides support for the application of data science
Providing statistics course module and educational materials On-demand contents on statistics are provided for use in research by faculty members and to support self-study by students in research laboratories and seminars.
Research Platform WIRP Through the Waseda Integrated Research Platform (WIRP) operated by the Center for Data Science, it is possible to use data received by the Center in research and education.
Cooperation on application for research funding When applying for research funding, such as Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI), researchers can include the Center for Data Science as a partner institution by applying to the Center beforehand with the contents of the collaboration.

 

Data Science Course Consultation

Waseda University offers students the opportunity to learn about data science in a way that matches their individual interests and objectives. Students are free to decide on the learning approach, but students who are learning about data science for the first time are advised to refer to page 6 of the pamphlet for the Certification Program in Data Science.

Data Science Research Consultation

Demonstration and validation through data is becoming increasingly important in all research fields across the sciences and humanities. The Center for Data Science welcomes research-related inquiries and consultation from the whole of Waseda University, and provides support for the application of data science.

*Please be sure to check the details before consulting with the Center.

Scope of consultation: Data analysis in research at Waseda University (for example, research that is related to graduation thesis, Master’s dissertation, and research publication or presentation at academic conferences)

Eligibility: Students enrolled at Waseda University, researchers, faculty, and staff whose primary affiliation is Waseda University

 

 

Research Platform WIRP

First, please read the “Waseda Integrated Research Platform Terms of Use” and the “Handling of Personal Information on the Waseda Integrated Research Platform.” If you agree to the terms of service, please click on “Apply” to commence the user registration process.

After completing the user registration, print out the WIRP User Registration Form, sign it and affix your seal, and submit it via on-campus mail (Waseda Mail). User registration will be deemed as completed upon receipt of the WIRP User Registration Form.
