At ACROSS, the Study Group on the Super Distributed 5-Grids Digital Society was established in FY2020 to research the technical and institutional aspects of data collection, analysis, and control based on the five grids of power, gas, communication, water, and transportation. We aim to collect and integrate a wide variety of data created by people that contribute to the improvement of the convenience and safety of social activities and citizens’ lives by utilizing information that makes full use of artificial intelligence (AI) analysis and supporting local government policies and economic revitalization, such as the optimization of urban infrastructure/public transportation and business innovation in companies. Furthermore, from these perspectives, we aim to engage in research that contributes to the realization of the coming “decarbonized, hyper-distributed, digital society”.
We have been investigating and discussing services that can be achieved with the two-way gateway as a device that collects field information, with an integrated platform that manages and analyzes several types of information, as the core of the technology. Since FY2022, we are focusing on developing activities for technological and social demonstrations.
