Study Group on Carbon-Neutral Society

The Waseda Carbon Net Zero Challenge 2030 issued by Waseda University on November 1, 2021, strives toward the achievement of carbon neutrality based on the trinity of cutting-edge research, human resources development, and demonstration on campus by creating new global value as the basic policy.

Much of the research conducted by the 11 ACROSS Research Institutes contributes to the promotion of carbon neutrality; thus, in FY2022, we established the Study Group on Carbon-Neutral Society and promoted activities linked to the Waseda Carbon Net Zero Challenge. We will invite lecturers from the University and elsewhere, including all the directors of the ACROSS Research Institutes, and provide member companies with an opportunity to introduce and discuss the latest trends in systems and measures as well as cutting-edge research toward carbon neutrality.

On the special Waseda University website, the list of researchers involved in cutting-edge research for achieving carbon neutrality includes the names and research themes of the ACROSS Chairman Yasuhiro Hayashi and the ACROSS Dean Shin-ichi Tanabe as well as the ACROSS Research Institute Directors Shinji Wakao, Yoshiharu Amano, Yushi Kamiya, Keiichiro Kondo, Masashi Okubo, Ayu Washizu, and Tomoko Kawakami, and the websites of the Research Institutes.

Chair: Yasuhiro Hayashi (ACROSS Chairman/ACROSS Research Institute for Advanced Network Technology Director)
