After Director Kimura of the Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Department of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of METI gave the congratulatory address, Director Yasuhiro HAYASHI introduced ACROSS and gave a commemorative speech entitled, “The coming smart society and Waseda University’s research vision,” in which he strongly called for achieving the form of society that is the objective of ACROSS. The ceremony continued with the introductions of the directors of the seven research groups that belong to ACROSS, and then with congratulatory words from Tokyo Electric Power Company Executive Vice President Hiroshi YAMAGUCHI representing the Promotion Association for Smart Society Technology, and then Deputy Director Hashimoto gave the closing remarks. 17 companies from the Promotion Association for Smart Society Technology, 13 companies from the Study Group for Smart Society Technology, and representatives of a wide variety of associations such as the Mobility Research Association attended.
