Research Topics
Hello! I’m Tatsumi Nakamura, a second-year master’s student in the Fujimura Laboratory.
Under the keyword “Smart Industry,” our laboratory conducts research on production information systems. The environment surrounding production changes from moment to moment. Within it, we must dynamically decide what to make, when, how much, and how to produce and deliver it.
Centered on the scheduling technologies that make such decisions possible, we work on a wide range of topics, including:
- Optimization of production scheduling and delivery planning using metaheuristics and deep reinforcement learning
- Autonomous, distributed decision-making systems based on agent technology
- Anomaly prediction using neural networks and time-series analysis
- Next-generation production environments utilizing IoT and AR/VR/MR
Our goal is to apply our research results to real-world practice and to shape the ideal form of production information systems.

Lab Seminar
An International Research Environment
The greatest appeal of our laboratory is its diversity.
Doctoral and master’s students from all over the world study here, and both Japanese and English are spoken naturally in our seminars. Different countries and backgrounds bring completely different ways of thinking.
Almost every day, something I took for granted is turned upside down, and that makes each day truly stimulating.

Student Discussion
Lab Atmosphere
Professor Fujimura’s vision is “a laboratory where we respect each other’s opinions and engage in constructive discussion. ” True to his words, he listens carefully to even our smallest questions and offers precise advice whenever we hit a wall.
Theory and implementation, research and job hunting, serious discussion and friendly interaction: all of these are valued here, making ours a truly well-balanced laboratory.
Social gatherings and other events also create connections that go beyond research.
Why not join us and take on world-class research with a diverse group of peers?
