Fujimura lab

Song Wen, 1 year on Doctoral program

With the development of information technology in recent years, manufacturing industry has made major changes in the manufacturing industry. More and more information technology is used to help improve efficiency, reduce costs and make more profit in processing, transportation and manufacturing industry. This is what we are learning at Fujimura Laboratory. Broadly speaking, our research focuses on the next generation of production information systems, including scheduling problems, applications of IoT (Internet of Things) and data analysis in industries. More specifically, we have such kinds of research directions:
1) Flexible job-shop scheduling problems based on heuristic algorithms
2) Indoor positioning algorithm for moving track analysis using iBeacons
3) Anomaly detection of sensors and correlation analysis in process factory

Most researchers are coded in Java, which is recommended for use in our research activities. However, as long as you get excellent results, you are not limited to use several kinds of languages. You can apply for original books and research supplies. In fact, at Fujimura Laboratory, there is no limitation in studying any topic in this area of research.

Our laboratory has several members from various countries such as Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Ethiopia and China. We are researching similar themes, exchanging opinions and share ideas. Also, everyone participates in a seminar that Professor Fujimura holds every week. In the seminar, we make presentations, report research situations and regularly announce the results. Professor Fujimura as well as the listener’s students ask questions and present their suggestions. This will help you get better results.

Professor Fujimura, the supervisor of this laboratory, is a knowledgeable and kind professor who keeps smiling. The professor is working diligently with great patience and scrupulousness in both research activities and education. Professor Fujimura is a very good researcher in the field of specialized research and a friendly teacher who responds to student problems at any time. In recent years, with the significant help of our professor, our lab members have published many papers in academic societies both in Japan and overseas.

It is inevitable that more information technology would be used in manufacturing and process industry. In that case, it is time to learn this kind of knowledge with us. If you have interest in this field please come to Fujimura lab.
