Watanabe Lab

A challenge for your future
Zeng Lian, 3st grade, Doctoral program

In Watanabe Laboratory named ASIC-DA Lab., we do research range from ASIC Design Automation, Algorithms for Physical Design and FPGA Design to the optimization the network-on-chips (NoCs). And how to design environment for IP-Reused is also intrigued us. We are committed to propose innovation algorithm (such as routing algorithm, placement algorithm) and novel architecture (such as router architecture) for providing high-performance and low-energy consumption LSI systems. Watanabe Laboratory is a great place where you can learn both underlying large scale integrated circuit (LSI) technology and higher levels of abstraction. In recent years, our laboratory has published many papers in domestic and international conferences and journals which are high level in corresponding fields. As of 2016, there are two research assistant, five doctor course students and seven master course students in our laboratory. Though each member comes from different areas in Japan and China, we work with each other as brothers and sisters. The atmosphere of laboratory is always lively, pleasant and fun. Every week, we have several seminars in our laboratory, in which we can discuss and exchange ideas with our members. In addition, we also have joint seminar with members of Kimura and Yoshimura Laboratory. In joint seminar, though there is a bit nervous before three professors and numbers of students, we have opportunity to present the state-of-art resarch and discuss with professors. Professor Watanabe spent many years in a cooperated laboratory of Japanese company and lead a research group of circuit design technology. So he applies extensive knowledge and experience in LSI field to guide our research. Under the patience and advice of professor Watanabe, every member in our laboratory is doing their best effort to improve scientific studies. In our laboratory, we often organize kinds of activities, such as as New Year party, barbecue, climbing and so on. By participating these interesting activities, we not only experience Japanese culture, but also enhance the solid friendship with each others. So if you are interested in Watanabe laboratory, don’t hesitate to join us and let us create precious memories together.
