In recent years, with the development of information technology, traditional manufacturing industry is confronted with a great revolution. More and more information technologies and theories are applied, which is committed to the efficiency improvement and cost reduction. That is what Fujimura Lab. researches for. Generally, we focus on the next generation of production information system especially scheduling of manufactory production. More specifically, we study some algorithms, such as artificial intelligent algorithm and heuristic algorithm, and try to use them to solve complicate scheduling problems or improve the scheduling methods. Apart from that, we write programs and sometimes develop software for aided validation and real system simulation, which can make the research result more accurate and more convincing. Most programs and software are coded in Java and PHP, which are mostly recommended to use in our research work. However if we can obtain a good result, the implement methods are not limited. In Fujimura lab, we can do any research on any topics within the main research field.

Our laboratory contains 16 members, who are coming from different countries including Japan, Ethiopia and China. We study together and share our ideas on research topics. Apart from that, everyone should attend seminar held by professor Fujimura every week and give presentation to show periodically achievements. In seminars, professor, as well as other students, will raise questions and also give their suggestions, which will help us to get better results. Sometimes, we will have chance to visit factories such as TOTO and TOYOTA, which will show us how productions are made from raw material to final goods. It will be an unforgettable experience.

Professor Fujimura, the supervisor of this laboratory, is a really kind man with a permanent smile on his face. He always devotes himself on research work and education, and treat them with great patient and preciseness. He is an outstanding researcher in his research field and also he is an amiable teacher who is always ready for any problems from his students.

It will be an inevitable trend that more and more information technical will be used in manufacturing production as well as in production scheduling. In this case, when and how to use them will always be a fashion topic in the future. If you want to be a revolutionary in this field, welcome to Fujimura lab.
