Yoshie Lab – Research life in a global environment~

Hi there, I will explain Yoshie laboratory for students to be able to better understand it.

First, about research. In Yoshie laboratory, we do research and development of information science, academic exchanges by targeting a wide range of field such as software agents and virtual communities, virtual reality, e-learning. In this way, we have developed information technology and provided innovative as an application towards the manufacturing sector that Japan is proud, and then we will pursue the way of production in the new century and robustness in the use of the actual factory.

Next, about research life. In Yoshie laboratory, we have the self-management awareness and study day and night. There are six research associates, two doctoral students and thirteen students in master program. in Yoshie laboratory. Many of them are foreign students from Asian countries and Japanese students. We speak Japanese and English usually. We get along well, while mutually helping have to study and research.

Thirdly, I’ll explain Professor Yoshie. As an expert in information processing, he has to first attitude as a researcher and a scholar. He is very kind. Despite being busy with administrative duties such as the Graduate School, he is empathetic to consultation about life and research to students by taking time. During the consultation, we also get a variety of advice from the extensive knowledge and experience of Professor Yoshie himself, has become a reference for research, sometimes. Further, he tells us also about the interesting story and the latest technology in the chat, such as e-mail.

Finally, I’ll explain about the seminar. In the seminar, we announce the research field of interest and research we are now working on, and then lively discussions have been made from there. Also, because there is also a chance, such as paper writing achievements and presentations at conferences, I think that we can have a valuable experience as a student.
