Yoshikawa Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Application AY2026

1) Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must be privately financed international students holding nationality from an Asian country and, in principle, residing in Japan alone.
2. Applicants must be enrolled in a university located in Fukuoka Prefecture and reside within Fukuoka Prefecture.
3. Applicants must be graduate students or undergraduate students in their third or fourth year, and be able to continue receiving the scholarship for two years.
4. Applicants must be in particular need of financial assistance.
5. Applicants must have an excellent academic record, good character, and be in good health.
6. In principle, applicants must not be receiving any other scholarships.
7. Applicants must have an interest in international issues and regional exchange, and be able to contribute in these areas.

3) Scholarship Amount and Payment Method

1. Amount
   JPY 50,000 per month
2. Scholarship Period
   From April 2026 to March 2027
   (If the recipient remains enrolled for a second year, the scholarship will be automatically renewed; however, the maximum duration is two years.)
3. Payment Method
   The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient on a monthly basis.
   However, if deemed necessary, the payment may be made via bank transfer to the recipient’s account.

• Applicants must be able to complete the scholarship application form by themselves (in Japanese).
• Applicants must be able to communicate in Japanese during the interview.
• Applicants must be able to receive the scholarship continuously for two years (Master’s program students enrolling in April 2026, and Doctoral program students enrolling in April 2025 / September 2025 / April 2026).
• Applicants who receive a recommendation will be required to submit additional documents. Please refer to the application guidelines for details.
