Takahashi Laboratory

Welcome to Takahashi Laboratory!

ZENG, Zimin 2nd year of Master’s program

~Research Direction~

In Takahashi Lab, there are mainly two research directions.

  • One group of students is doing the research about the radiosensitizers (RSs), Photosensitizers (PSs), methods of radiotherapy (RT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT). For the research of RSs, we investigate the therapeutic effects of different RSs on cancer cell by testing the ROS generation ability. Another topic is PSs, which is similar to RSs. For the methods of RT and PDT, now we intend to make a combined methods of RT and PDT with other therapies.
  • Another group of students are doing the research about biological information, which is a frontier area that intersect biological sciences and information sciences. In Takahashi Lab, you can apply methods from computer science, statistics, and biological sciences (such as high-throughput sequencing and proteomics) to mine, analyze, and interpret biological data to reveal complex mechanisms and patterns within organisms. By using diverse sample types and model organizations, we are committed to explore key processes such as gene regulation, protein interactions, and biological signaling.

~Research Instruction~

New members in our laboratory can have many opportunities to learn basic knowledge for their own research through courses and seminars. Professor Takahashi is always approachable if you have any questions and she will have personal talk with each student to give kindly instruction when discussing about their research project. What’ more, the senior students including the doctor students are always willing to give detailed instruction about the experiment procedure.

~Lab Activities~

The paper sharing seminar will be held on Wednesday and the bioinformatic seminar will be held on Thursday every week, which provide a platform for students to share their idea, research progress and discuss. Additionally, beside research activities our lab will regularly organizes some social events like parties, trips, dinners and so on. The abundant extracurricular activities are also very helpful to create a harmonious laboratory atmosphere.

Let’s enjoy the colorful research life together in TAKAHASHI Lab!
