本研究部会では、人事経済学の日本における研究拠点として、人事経済学ワークショップの開催、人事データなど企業内データの収集・管理、企業との共同研究の推進に力を入れる。現在進行中の科学研究費基盤Aでは、企業内人的資本投資の実態やその投資効率、およびその生産性を引上げるメカニズムに関する研究を行っている。具体的には、（１）日本企業による人的資本投資は、どの程度の生産性押し上げ効果を持っているのか、（２）生産性を押し上げるメカニズムにはどのようなものがあるのか、（３）対象やスキルの種類によって、投資リターンにはどのような違いがあるのか、といった問いに答えるため、フォーマルな研修、異動配置を通じた経験の蓄積、健康投資、経営人材育成の４つに領域に整理した11の研究テーマを探求するものである。人的資本投資の実証研究の蓄積における学術的貢献を主目的とするが、人的資本経営、リスキリング、人的資本情報の開示など、人事経済学研究の知見が有用な課題に社会の関心が集まっている折でもあり、研究成果の発信や産業界とのコミュニケーションにも力を入れる。また、2026年度（2027年3月）には国際学会COPE2027を早稲田で開催することが決定している。

This research group serves as a hub for human resource economics research in Japan, focusing on organising workshops in human resource economics, collecting and managing corporate data such as personnel data, and promoting collaborative research with companies. Under the ongoing Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A), research is being conducted on the actual state of human capital investment within companies, the efficiency of such investment, and the mechanisms that enhance productivity. Specifically, to address questions such as: (1) To what extent do human capital investments by Japanese firms boost productivity? (2) What mechanisms drive this productivity increase? (3) How do investment returns differ by target group or skill type?, the research projects explore 11 themes organised into four domains: formal training, experience accumulation through job rotation, health investments, and management talent development. While the primary objective is to contribute academically to the accumulation of empirical research on human capital investment, the project also places emphasis on disseminating research findings and engaging with industry. This aligns with the current societal focus on topics where insights from human resource economics research are valuable, such as human capital management, reskilling, and human capital disclosure. Furthermore, it has been decided that the international conference COPE2027 will be held at Waseda University in fiscal year 2026 (March 2027).
