･Profile of Zhan Wei-Dong:
?Associate Professor at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and also acting as the vice director at the Institute of Computational Linguistics of Peking University. He received his PhD in linguistics from Peking University in 1999. He currently is a visiting scholar in Asian Languages & Cultures Department of University of California at Los Angeles (2013.3-2014.2). He also serves on the editorial board of Journal of Chinese Information Processing. Since 2003, he has acted as the secretary-general of a sub-committee of National Committee of Standardization of Chinese Language & Characters.

 
His main research interest is in Chinese syntax, Chinese lexical semantics, and language engineering, focusing on the development and application of large-scale Chinese treebank corpus and computer-aided lexicography. Over the past five years, he has been engaged in several national research projects, including composing a national standard on general rules for writing numerals in public texts, Chinese corpus annotation, linguistic knowledge extraction, visualization and application, which are funded by National Social Science Foundation and Ministry of Education of China.
