The Ying Wa College Delegation visited Waseda

On March 29, Mr. Allan K K Cheng (Principal), Mr. TSANG Chi To, Joseph (Vice Principal) of Ying Wa College, a prestigious high school in Hong Kong, together with other two members in the delegation, visited our Waseda campus. This visit is arranged by Global Recruitment Team for Hong Kong, School of International Liberal Studies and School of Political Science and Economics.

Beforehand the Ying Wa College delegation has visited Engoji Temple in Kyoto for the purpose of seeing the treasured cultural relic, the first versions of Chinese-translated Holy Bible published in 1855 by predecessors of Ying Wa College, intending to display them in Hong Kong to celebrate the school’s 200th anniversary. For their visit, Professor Pinnington Adrian, the Dean of School of International Liberal Studies, gave a lots of help.

During the Ying Wa College delegation’s visit in Waseda, firstly they came to School of Political Science and Economics, having a deep communication with Professor Fukagawa Yukiko, Professor Kawagishi Norikazu and Professor Araki Kazunori about various topics, particularly the enrollment and cultivation of international students in Hong Kong.

Then they visited School of International Liberal Studies and have a deep talk with Dean Pinnington Adrian. Both sides agreed that the Holy Bible published by Ying Wa College, which witnessed the history of Japan-Hong Kong relations, did play a role in the modernization of Japan. Meanwhile, they made an agreement to further strengthen the relationship between the two schools for a continuous development.
