Professor Kotaro Suzumura, Waseda University Honorary Fellow (former professor at the Waseda University School of Political Science and Economics) was elected as a cultural contributor on the Oct 24.

In the field of welfare economics / social choice theory, he raised outstanding research achievements and played a leading role in the Economics Society.

In Japan, it refers to those who are particularly noteworthy in terms of cultural development and progress.
Approximately 15 people are certified every year at the system of the country which honors the person who was particularly awarded.
More people than the Order of Culture are chosen, and it is the second honor to the Order of Culture.
