The Campus Piano event was born from a student proposal competition organized by the School of Political Science and Economics during the Covid-19 Pandemic. With the help of student staff and faculty members, it has since taken place every semester and has attracted hundreds of music enthusiasts across our university – students, teachers, and office staff. Even people who are unaffiliated with Waseda, but live in the neighborhood, come to the Orange Cat Cafe of the Waseda International House of Literature (Murakami Haruki Library) to play and listen to music.
Music serves a bridge between people of various cultural and academic backgrounds, and of different generations. Music inspires compassion and makes communication possible beyond language and geographical barriers, and classical music in particular has lasted over a long period of time because it speaks to our common humanity and emotions. The 7th Campus Piano event will take place as follows.
Date: December 18, 2024 (Wed) 11:00-15:30
