Associate Professor Hartzheim has guest edited the latest volume (16.2) of Mechademia: Second Arc (University of Minnesota Press) on the theme of “Media Industries and Platforms.” The volume – divided among industrial histories, critical platforms, and transnational flows – examines historical and contemporary forms, definitions, and productions related to anime in East Asia. Hartzheim also penned an article in the volume on the processes and negotiations of creative professionals in script development for television animation.
