Message
My PhD research theme is plurilingualism in Tokyo, with a focus on Korean newcomers growing up with three languages, i.e. Korean, Japanese, and English.
My aim is to explore the perceived values of the different languages spoken in Tokyo, and, as a case study, analyze the modalities of plurilingual education given at home to children of Korean parents.
By examining the epilinguistic attitudes of Tokyoites, and by assessing the role of Heritage Language education in the development of plurilingual abilities, my purpose is to give a clearer view of the linguistic dynamics of Tokyo and of its plurilingual potential.
