Graduate School of International Culture and Communication Studies of Waseda University and Birkbeck College and School of Oriental and African Studies of University of London will host the second international symposium on Japanese Transnational Cinema on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st. Papers are presented on issues such as the interaction of Japanese and international cinema, the representation of foreigners and foreign culture in Japanese films, the non-unique nature of Japanese cinema, and the transnational network of production, distribution and exhibition.
