Having the dream of making Colombia a better place through its ties with Japan, and also with my academic background and the work experience I had, I wanted to conduct a research about the situation of the business-based peace-building in Colombia and the possible incidence of the Japanese Private sector. This motivated me to choose GSICCS, considering the diverse option of courses, the interdisciplinary programs, and the presence of my actual thesis advisor: Professor Uesugi (an expert in peace-building studies).
GSICCS is a truly international school, not only in terms of the language or the classes it offers, but also because of the international community which nourish the content of the classes from different perspectives, giving students the opportunity to approach a variety of realities and cultures while being in a country that is already rich in culture and history.
