Journal of Waseda International House of Literature(JWIHL) is an international academic journal published annually by the Waseda International House of Literature. Our aim is to offer a space for scholarly dialogue on the subject of literature written in Japanese. We welcome submissions written in Japanese or English with new global perspectives on this subject.
The third issue of the journal will be an open theme issue and we invite submissions of articles on all genres of Japanese literature (poetry, novels, performing arts, etc.) We are eager to see more submissions related to both modern and contemporary literature as well as those that look at translation/adaptation or take more theoretical or comparative approaches.
Manuscripts: Manuscripts should be 12,000 to 16,000 characters in Japanese or 7,000 to 12,000 words in English (including footnotes).
Please note that manuscripts must be previously unpublished and must not be concurrently submitted to other journals. Manuscripts that have already been published in journals, books, or on the Web (including repositories, etc.) are ineligible for consideration. Sections of doctoral disser-tations and translations of papers published in other languages also cannot be submitted.
