2nd GMP Cohort Graduation Ceremony and Celebration

On March 25, 2025, the Global Management Program (GMP) held its graduation ceremony for the second cohort of students in Classroom 505 of Building No. 11.

The event was attended by members of the graduating second cohort, their families and supporters, GMP faculty members, and third-year students from the third cohort. The ceremony included speeches by the GMP Director, Professor Hirota, and GMP Student Committee Chairs Ryuji Yoshimura and Hiroshi Yamaguchi, as well as the presentation of completion certificates and a group photo session.

The ceremony began with an inspiring speech by Professor Hirota, who reflected on the students’ accomplishments over the past two years and emphasized GMP’s core value of “contribution.” He encouraged the graduates to become leaders who contribute to others and, eventually, to the world as they step into society.

The Student Committee Chairs delivered heartfelt and humorous bilingual speeches in English and Japanese, sharing reflections on their GMP experiences and their aspirations after graduation. Their engaging presentations helped create a warm and cheerful atmosphere throughout the ceremony.

During the certificate presentation, graduating students took the stage in their zemi groups. They radiated a strong sense of fulfillment and achievement gained from their two years in the program.

Following the ceremony, a graduation celebration party was held. In addition to the second cohort and GMP faculty, alumni from the first cohort also joined the celebration. A special congratulatory message from the first cohort to the second cohort added to the joyful atmosphere. Members of the second cohort shared memories from the past two years with their peers, seniors, and professors, making the gathering a lively and cheerful occasion.

Reflecting on the experience, second cohort member Shuji Motoda shared the following message:

“Being a part of GMP and involved in its development over the past two years has been an incredibly valuable experience for me. I hope to make use of what I’ve learned to contribute to society in meaningful ways. I also look forward to seeing GMP continue to grow and thrive for years to come, and I hope to remain involved even after graduation.”
