3rd GMP 2024 Career Forum: Insights and Inspiration from Recent Alumni

Global Management Program (GMP) held its third Career Forum of the 2024 academic year on November 16 in Room 502, Building 11. Fifteen alumni from GMP’s inaugural cohort, now in their first year of professional careers, returned to campus to share their experiences with current students.

The forum began with introductions of the alumni’s academic and professional journeys, followed by an industry-focused group discussion. Participants were divided into smaller groups for roundtable conversations, where alumni shared their job-hunting experiences and valuable insights from their current roles across diverse industries.

Third-year students representing the third cohort of GMP focused on clarifying their career aspirations and overcoming challenges in their ongoing job search, while fourth-year students (second cohort) sought advice on preparing for their transition into the workforce. The interactive format allowed students to ask a wide range of questions, from detailed industry trends to practical tips on navigating the hiring process, making the forum a highly meaningful experience.

Shunsuke Takayama, a third-year GMP student, shared, “Hearing directly from alumni who are now making an impact in the professional world was incredibly inspiring. Their achievements offered a glimpse of the possibilities ahead and motivated me to pursue my aspirations with greater focus. This forum reaffirmed my commitment to becoming a global business leader, as envisioned by the GMP, and to unlocking my potential to contribute to a better world.”

The GMP Career Forum continues to serve as a bridge between the alumni and current GMP students, empowering students to learn from accomplished alumni and refine their career paths. The event reflects GMP’s commitment to fostering globally minded leaders who are equipped to navigate and shape the future of business.
