Student Advisors for Waseda Culture

We are “Student Advisors for Waseda Culture”. Our job as Student Advisers is to spread and create Waseda’s culture.

“WASEDA University CULTURE & ART WEEK” is an event to introduce a wide variety of culture and arts of Waseda University. This year, the event will be held from October 11 to October 21. Events such as concerts, live performances, lectures, exhibitions, stamp rallies will be held as usual.

This post is especially for international students (or visitors) who love to join the activities but do not fully understand Japanese. Don’t worry, We will introduce all the recommended activities to you in English on this page. Please come and experience the charm of Waseda Culture!

◆Museum Stamp Rally


Let’s walk around the Museums on Waseda University Campus and join in the Museum Stamp Rally! Stamp one card on top of another to create a colorful illustration. Try to find the stamps at five different locations on campus to create your own original stamp card.

Here is the recommended stamp rally sequence. Still, you can start from any facility. There is no reservation required for joining in.
(1) Waseda University History Museum (Bldg. No. 1), Waseda Campus.
(2) Aizu Museum (Bldg. No. 2), Waseda Campus.
(3) The Waseda International House of Literature (The Haruki Murakami Library) (Bldg. No. 4), Waseda Campus.
(4) Theatre Museum (Bldg. No. 5), Waseda Campus.
(5) 125th Memorial Hall (Okuma Memorial Tower, 10th floor), Waseda Campus.
(6) Waseda Sports Museum (Waseda Arena 3rd floor), Toyama Campus.

◆Wasemeshi Stamp Rally

Have you noticed there are many restaurants and cafes around Waseda University? In these places, you might experience new encounters and discoveries. Don’t be surprise. These are also parts of our Waseda Culture. Here, you can take part in a fun event called the “Waseda-Meshi Stamp Rally” and win a prize! This year, we will offer prize winner an “Waseda University’s original wearable eco-bag” for people who join the Wasemeshi Stamp Rally!
*No reservation required.

How should I join in?

STEP 1: Have lunch at Wasemeshi restaurants! Fill in your name, student ID number (if you are a Waseda student) or e-mail address on the Wasemeshi Stamp Card and collect 5 stamps at 5 Wasemeshi restaurants. Next, register your name, student ID number (if you are a Waseda student), and e-mail address, using the application form below and save the receipt notification E-mail.
Note: You can find these stamp card in Waseda museums and all the Wasemeshi restaurants. Be aware that only one stamp per store is valid. The same stamp from same store is invalid.

STEP 2: Bring “your Stamp Card” and “receipt notification E-mail” to Waseda University History Museum (Bldg. No. 1) to pick up your prize (ECO BAG). The prize will offer for the first 1000 people. Your Stamp Card would be collected as exchange of the prize.

*Be aware that we cannot deliver the prize by mail. Please come to pick up and we hope you can enjoy the exhibition in the Waseda University History Museum at the same time.
*Please note that the venue is closed on 10/2 (Wed.) and 10/9 (Wed.), so please come on another day.

◆Find Waseda Bear in Museums!

While touring the museum, find the panels with “Waseda Bear” and “Hiragana Characters” on them. Find all the hiragana characters and connect them to complete the keywords.
Those who find the keywords will receive a “Waseda University original Sticky notes” at the History Museum (not for sale, first 500 visitors).

◆Museum Word Puzzle


You might need a little bit Japanese language to join this activity. Find the hints for keyword from different Waseda Museums. Solve the word puzzle and the first 500 participants would get Waseda original stadium cushionas a prize!Bring the worksheet you finished to the Waseda University History Museum and get the prize.

Another live session but this time Waseda University students will give powerful and beautiful performances in front of the Aizu Museum (Bldg. No. 2).

◆Okuma LIVE


You can enjoy music, dance, comedy, and performances of various genres at Waseda University. It is, as it were, the Waseda Culture Festival! Please do not forget to make a registration before you go! Apply Now!

◆WASEDA Anniversary Concert 2024


The Waseda Symphony Orchestra Tokyo, the best of student orchestras will offer performance to celebrate the Waseda University’s anniversary. Please enjoy the sound of the orchestra playing in the Okuma Memorial Auditorium. Please do not forget to make a registration before you go! Apply Now!

◆Museum Concerts


During the Waseda Culture and Arts Week, concerts by student circles will be held at the museums located at the university. It is a good opportunity to enjoy live performances of various music genres in the special spaces like museums. If you have time, please feel free to drop by. (Free admission, no reservation required)

◆WASEDA & MEIJI Cheerleading Performance


During sports competition, each universities’ cheerleading teams play important roles. Waseda Culture and Arts Week provides a special opportunity for cheerleading teams from Meiji University and Waseda University to have a performance together. Let’s go and cheer with them! No tickets will be issued for this event. Reservations are not required.

◆Waseda Sports Anniversary Stage


The Waseda Sports Anniversary Stage will be held to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Waseda University. All the Waseda sports teams would come and cheer for Waseda-Keio rivalry in the autumn. Come and also cheer for them as a member of Waseda!
