Open Talk “The Changing Buddhist Diet”

In this talk, Mikiyasu Yanagi will discuss the historical and regional transformations of Buddhist dietary practices. From its origins in India around 2,500 years ago and through its transmission through China and into Japan, Buddhism constantly adapted flexibly and changed in response to the societies of each time and place.
