Introducing Our International Alumni Network: The Bangkok Tomonkai

The Bangkok Tomonkai is a Waseda alumni association in Thailand with over 50 years of history and around 300 members, connecting Japanese residents across generations, professions, and ages. Through regular gatherings, golf events, study sessions, and volunteer activities, it provides a strong sense of community and a link to Waseda University for alumni living abroad. The association also highlights the appeal of Bangkok, a city blending tradition, innovation, diverse cultures, and comfortable living. Members value the friendships, support, and opportunities for personal and professional growth that come from being part of this vibrant overseas alumni network.
The group was recently featured in Waseda Gakuho, a bimonthly publication of the Waseda University Alumni Association (WUAA). Together with the Waseda University Alumni Association (WUAA), founded in 1885, the University supports a worldwide alumni network of more than 600,000 graduates, fostering connections among alumni while providing support for current students. Today, approximately 70 overseas Tomonkai groups operate around the world, welcoming alumni and visitors alike and serving as valuable communities that connect Waseda graduates across borders.
