As of February 23, the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Japan continues and shows no signs of stopping. It is the university’s utmost priority to take appropriate preventive measures and to make sure that all classes and research activities resume as normal when the new academic year/semester begins in April, while alleviating any concerns on the prevalence of the coronavirus on campus.
As such, in order to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus and ensure the well-being of everyone, all events organized by the university scheduled to take place from now until March 24, 2020 that fall under any of the following will be, in principle, cancelled or postponed.
- Events with a large number of participants (i.e. 30 people or above)
- Events where many senior citizens are expected to attend
- Events that involve close physical contact between participants
We thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation on this matter.
*If you have any doubts or need further clarifications, kindly contact the department in-charge.
