On October 7, Suguru Osako who graduated from the School of Sport Sciences clinched third place at the Chicago Marathon with a timing of 2:05:50, breaking Japan’s national record.

Last year in 2017, Osako also finished the Boston Marathon in third place. His achievement at the Chicago Marathon marked the second time he shined on the stage of the World Marathon Majors.

The University wishes Osako good luck and all the best on the upcoming Tokyo Marathon 2019 and 2020 Tokyo Olympics games.
