Becoming the ideal trainer by meeting inspirational people
An advantage of the Course of Athletic Training Conditioning is that you have the opportunity to hear renowned guest speakers talk about their experiences. These talks have influenced my beliefs and point of view as a trainer and a human being. I study ways to collect data and write research papers in my seminar. As a professional trainer, it is necessary for me to pursue my interests in depth, so I am learning how to go about that right now. Not to mention, I have grown as a person at all levels by listening to advice from upperclassmen and teachers. In the future, I want to become a trainer. Having experienced many things and meeting all kinds of people at the School of Sport Sciences have formed my expectations as a trainer. For the prospective students, I hope you will be able to break out of your shell and expose yourself to a bigger world through sports sciences.

Gaining hands-on experience to support athletes
Currently, I support student athletes on the rugby team as a student trainer. I decided to study in the Course of Athletic Training Conditioning because as a trainer, I wanted to gain hands-on experience. We learn and apply techniques during classes and lectures, such as wrapping athletic tape and responding to injured athletes. In addition, many distinguished athletes assemble at Waseda, and I believe being such environment is definitely a positive asset that will give me invaluable experience. A program like Waseda’s where it teaches you theoretical and practical knowledge of the field is one of a kind. The quality of education you receive at the School of Sport Sciences will definitely equip you with the skillset required to become a professional sport trainer and more for the future.
