From students and faculty to salarymen, seniors, children, and families pushing baby carts, many people can be seen coming to and from Waseda Campus. Some sit at a nearby bench and read books while others listen to the radio or practice their pronunciation.
Many of you have likely come across a dog with a fashionable collar and leash in the morning at Uni. Café 125. The owner of this dog never attended Waseda but lives nearby and has been stopping by the café every morning for around seven years. However, she does not stop by Waseda simply because it is on the way.
“There is something particularly unusual about the atmosphere of Waseda Campus. Even though it is a university campus, there is a vast garden and people of all ages walking through it. More than anything else, I feel like we are receiving power from students.”
All kinds of people come to and from Waseda Campus where they enjoy spending time at Okuma Garden and in front of the Okuma statue. Today there was a father taking a picture of his two children in front of Okuma Statue. Years from now, these two children may be building the future of Waseda University.
