On November 25th, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, French Minister for Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs, came to Waseda University to deliver a special lecture entitled “Facing reforms: What does it take for France“ .
He spoke about the necessity of economic reform in France, stressing the importance of taking risks in policy-making.
The venue was filled to over capacity by students and he passionately empathized the power of youth to them, insisting that the role of the government should not be to show what the future would be to younger generations but to encourage the youth to create their own country in the future.
Even after the lecture, Minister Macron stayed at the venue to join the discussions with the students and energetically exchanged opinions.
