On 25 October, Yui Susaki (first-year student at the School of Sport Sciences) won her second consecutive gold medals at the World Wrestling Championships held at Budapest in Hungary after beating Rio Olympic silver medalist Mariya Stadnik in women’s 50kg class. Yui was a 48kg class wrestler last year and this is the first time she participated in the 50kg class matches at the World Wrestling Championships. Even so, she won all four matches straight without losing any points.
Waseda University will continue to cheer Yui on and hopes everyone would give her their fullest support.
