According to the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 published on September 18, Waseda ranked 34th place globally this year, making it the top private university in Japan for four consecutive years.

Each university is evaluated and given an overall score by comprehensively examining five indicators—1) graduate employment rate, 2) partnerships with employers, 3) employer reputation, 4) alumni outcomes and 5) employer-student connections. Among the indicators, Waseda did particularly well in employer-student connections and employer reputation.

Waseda has been ranked the top private university in Japan for graduate employability since QS Quacquarelli Symonds Limited started publishing the employability rankings in 2016. Measuring the success of Waseda graduates, the rankings are also an objective evaluation of the various efforts made by the University following the Waseda Vision 150 strategic plan. One of the plan’s major goals is to foster global leaders. Specifically, the University aims to double the number of international students to 10,000 and have all its students experience studying abroad before graduation. To educate and guide the leaders of tomorrow, Waseda University is dedicated to making innovative reforms as a leading university in the world.
