The term "Suma Dori" (Smart Drinking) has been around for several years. It is a way of drinking that aims to encourage both drinkers and non-drinkers to share a fun time together while respecting the diversity of each other's drinking styles.

On the other hand, there still seems to be an atmosphere in some university student club that encourages "old-fashioned" drinking, especially among new students. Drinking alcohol among students under the age of 20, whose bodies and minds are still in the process of development, can easily lead to illness, emergency hospitalization, and even trouble to society. In the worst cases, it can even result in death.

I want all students to think about this. Is that alcohol really necessary? If something happens to someone under the age of 20 because of a drink you offered them, you may become the perpetrator. In some cases, you may have to bear the responsibility for the rest of your life. Is it really necessary to communicate through alcohol, even if it means taking such a risk?

Of course, I don't mean to completely reject alcohol. If enjoyed appropriately, it can enhance the flavor of food and lighten your mood. However, you shouldn't force someone to drink or drink to the point of breaking the law. It's perfectly possible to become closer to someone without relying on alcohol.

I want all students to seriously explore ways to connect with people that are appropriate for the new era. I want you to utilize the intellect that you have worked so hard to hone in order to build heartfelt relationships while also following the law. I sincerely hope that you will realize the ideals of "Suma Dori."
