Waseda Portal Office (WPO)

Waseda Portal Office Reception Counter

Waseda Portal Office (WPO), located on the first floor Building No. 7 Waseda Campus, is a general information desk for students. It offers a variety of services, including assistance with PC problems and general IT issues, assistance with lost property on Waseda Campus, and advice on taking university-wide open courses offered by Global Education Center (GEC).

They also offer a service to lend out umbrellas on rainy days (limited numbers available). There are also student staff at the counter who are happy to answer any questions you may have as fellow students, so please feel free to stop by. Some services require prior reservations, so be sure to check the WPO website before visiting.

Make use of the umbrella sharing service "i-kasa"!

An i-kasa" umbrella stand in Waseda Campus Building No. 8 is located at the entrance on the south side of the first floor. There are also other locations on campus.

If you forget your umbrella and get caught in a sudden rain shower, in addition to the WPO's rental umbrellas, the on-campus umbrella sharing service "i-kasa" is convenient. This service allows you to rent an umbrella for 140 yen for 1 day (24 hours), and there are many umbrella stands not only on campus but also at stations along the JR Yamanote Line, Seibu Shinjuku Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Line, and Odakyu Line, so you can return it to a location that is convenient for you.

Waseda University, which used to dispose of more than 3,000 plastic umbrellas a year, recommends the use of i-kasa as part of its environmental measures. To actually use it, you will need the "i-kasa" app. Please check the app and i-kasa website for details.
