Hello, Waseda students!
Why don’t you have an intercultural exchange by talking about your favorite books in a special reading space?
The Waseda International House of Literature (The Haruki Murakami Library) is a building designed by Kengo Kuma, the world-famous architect. Renovated and opened in October 2021, it is a must-see for Haruki Murakami fans around the world.
In such a sophisticated space, we will hold an event where you can talk about your favorite books.
Don’t miss this opportunity! Please join us!
- Overview of the event
In this event, we will do two things: a tour of the building and an exchange time.
★Library Tour
Kengo Kuma, who also designed the National Stadium, renovated the building to create comfortable reading and social spaces. Library staff will show us around and you can relax before the exchange time!
★Exchange Time
Introduce a favorite book in a small group! Each group will have a common theme (an author, characters, endings, etc) and have a lot of fun. Details will be provided to confirmed participants, so look forward to further information!
*Please bring a book you would like to introduce (or something that shows the name of the book, such as an e-book or cover photo) by any author or genre. Feel free to add a book that you find interesting during the library tour.
