Explore Taiwan via tea and local specialties ICC Workshop (2022)

Poster

What comes to mind when you think of intercultural understanding? Do you search the internet for information about other cultures, or do you find and talk to people who grew up in that culture?

There is another way! You can learn more about the culture by things you encounter in your daily life, such as the food, groceries, household goods and the way people handle them. You learn about a culture by experiencing the lifestyle.

At our event on December 2, you will see a side of Taiwan that you probably don’t know, via tea and other goods that Taiwanese people use every day!

The event features Maji Treats, a company focused on rediscovering Taiwan’s local specialties and expressing Taiwan’s characteristics and ambience, along with Happy Lemon, which is committed to developing overseas markets and spreading Taiwan’s tea culture.

Happy Lemon will teach us the types of Taiwanese tea available found locally, and how to brew and taste the tea. Using carefully selected leaf tea, you can actually experience the local flavors. In addition, Maji Treats will provide Taiwanese specialty snacks to enjoy with tea and share stories behind many other goods.

Whether you’re interested in foreign tea, want to learn more about specialized tea production methods, or feel affinity to Maji Treats and their brand concept of “Less is more”, or if you are eager to know more about the land and life in Taiwan, this event is perfect!

Come experience the charm and culture of Taiwan together~

神農生活 Maji Treats is a lifestyle select shop originally founded in 2013 in Taipei. The company gathers special local foods and groceries, as well as the history and fascinating stories behind them. With a unique combination of modern and vintage objects and images, as well as curation for different season and events, the shop presents a taste of Taiwan and fits right into the urban environment, befitting the brand statement Come and fill up with the good life. Along with the product planning principles L.E.S.S. (Local, Essential, Seasonal, Suitable), the company is a platform for local culture to connect the world.

Born in 2006, HAPPY LEMON is a popular Taiwanese specialty store with over 900 stores in more than ten countries around the world, including Asia, the United States and Europe. Specialties include the “Lemon Tea Series,” with plenty of fresh lemon juice and pulp, and “Salty Cheese,” a rich thick tea made with fresh cream cheese, cream and rock salt, a unique drink created by HAPPY LEMON.
