A Tea Party invitation letter from the ICC!

Dear new students, welcome to Waseda University!

Here is a special theme cafe at the 3rd building 1st floor ICC lounge! The international student staff in the ICC will introduce their home country’s tea culture, followed by a discussion cafe. We will also prepare the tea introduced in the presentations and some snacks for you. Feel free to join in, make more new friends at the beginning of the new semester and learn more about different tea cultures around the world!

I am going to introduce the tea culture
in my home country: China.
Besides the green tea, black tea and Oolong tea,
I will introduce two other special teas to you
Black tea (Pu-erh tea) and white tea!

Hello my dear future-ICC lovers! My name is Philip,
Today I will talk about tea from a German’s perspective.
We drink a lot of fruit and herbal tea, as well as black tea,
but more than that there actually exists a very unique tea culture
in the north-eastern part of Germany that I’d like to introduce!

Don’t get fooled by my name that sounds Japanese
because I’m actually Indonesian.
I’ll introduce teh poci from Indonesia
and talk about how Indonesians enjoy tea.

and I will be introducing
the Moringa “Malunggay” tea,
a popular tea in the Philippines.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

I will be introducing Japanese tea,
especially Matcha!
Matcha is not only a popular drink.
It’s actually included in a variety of dishes too!
I look forward to seeing everyone at this event!

I’m from Korea and will be introducing
traditional Korean tea “Red Ginseng”.
