In Japan, we have a lot of natural disasters and we are at risk every day from earthquakes, typhoons and so on.
Some of you should remember the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 in which over 15,000 people lost their lives in the massive tsunami that followed.
If you stay in Japan for a long time, you often join disaster drills at your school. However, have you had a chance to think about disaster safety and prevention recently?
On the other hand, if you are from overseas, do you have enough knowledge of disaster safety and prevention in Japan?
Everyone knows it is very important to save yourself, but most people don’t think seriously about what to do until they are actually facing the disaster.
Of course, it is too late to think about a disaster after it has happened.
So the ICC will hold a disaster safety and prevention tour for you!
The Ikebukuro Life Safety Learning Center has amazing facilities that gives you a chance to practice three disasters including an earthquake trial which is the same level as the Great East Japan Earthquake.
In addition to the earthquake trial, you can learn about what to do if you face a spreading fire in Tokyo, where buildings are closely packed together.
At the end of the event, you will have time to chat with the other participants from various countries with different backgrounds about the disaster safety and prevention strategies!
– I am worried about if I could save myself from a disaster…
– I am afraid of a big earthquake that might happen in Tokyo in the future.
– Are earthquakes really that scary?
– I am interested in other students’ disaster safety and prevention strategies.
– I want to make new friends!
People who think of the above things, this event is for you! We’re waiting for your application!
– Earthquake, fire, and smoke trials (about 75min)
– Mixing time (about 25min)
