Hello everyone! Following on from the “ICC International Gourmet Fair” we present the 2nd wave of the ICC’s 10th anniversary celebrations the “ICC International Performance Fair”. An evening of national music and dance from many different countries and regions that will introduce you to the culture and customs from around the world.
In the first half, there will be performances of music and dance on the stage. These will include dances that you rarely get a chance to see such as Scottish dance, Bollywood dance, belly dance and the rare traditional dance of Taiwan “Amei”. We will also have performances of ancient Celtic music and popular jazz tunes by Waseda’s own big band orchestra! You’ll really be able to feel the great contrasting styles as you listen. Of course, not forgetting our host country, we’ll have performances of the classic Japanese song and dance “Soran Bushi”, as well as other classical Japanese dances and even a performance of the ancient art of Noh. If you haven’t dived into Japanese culture yet, now is your chance! We will also have performances from members of the Chinese, Indonesian and Singaporean student societies who will show off some of the best parts of their cultures for you!
In the second half we will have a traditional costume fashion show! Showcasing traditional clothing from countries around the world, it’s like going around the world without leaving your seat. Through these wonderful costumes you can understand and feel the culture of the countries they come from, and the lives of the peoples that wear them. And for the grand finale, we have the famous Waseda a cappella circle leading everyone in a performance of the worldwide hit “Stand by Me”! There is no doubt that this event will create some fantastic and unforgettable memories for you about your university life. It is an opportunity that is not to be missed!
