In recent times, Indian “Bollywood” films have been growing in popularity, appearing in international film festivals and receiving accolades all over the world.
However in this work, “Stanley’s Tiffin Box”, you won’t find any of the singing and dancing that you’ve come to expect from Indian films!
The story takes place during a school lunch break, and the children’s friendships and confrontations with teachers are the subject of the film. There’s plenty of cute kids, delicious looking school lunches and the message behind it all will surely move both your heart and your stomach!
After the screening the current Tokyo International Film Festival, Asian Division Director and current lecturer in “Asian Film Studies”at the School of Culture, Media and Society, Kenji Ishizaka, will give a talk about the film, the Indian film scene in general and also about the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Don’t miss this amazing opportunity!
