A diverse student body gathers at Waseda University.
But let us ask — do you feel that diversity matters to you?
Is there ever a moment when diversity feels like a word meant only for someone else?
We would like each and every one of you to ”Re:think” — take a fresh look at the way you’ve been thinking up to this point. about diversity.
With that in mind, SDC will organize a variety of events over the next three months under the theme of Diversity Month.
Taking a moment to pause and reflect—
that alone might create an opportunity to think more about yourself in relation to diversity.
This fall, come join us to “Re:think Diversity”
*Please check the link for details and application methods for each event.

- What is SDC?
The SDC is a grouping of four centers – ICC (Intercultural Communication Center), Accessibility Resource Center (ARC), Gender and Sexuality Center (GS Center), and Student Counseling Center (SCC)- which work to support students and to ensure a rich campus environment that welcomes the diverse values and experiences of all our students, inclusive of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, ability, religion and age.

“I wish I could get to school without being crammed into a packed train…” “I wish I could finish work early and have a slow, peaceful dinner with someone I care about…” How can we turn those little moments of happiness into reality? Every day, we rush around—chasing efficiency, fighting busyness. But maybe… there’s a gentler, richer way to live. If you’ve been feeling a bit trapped by your routine, why not pause for a moment and take a peek at a different way of life? It may bring you one step closer to the life you’ve been dreaming of.

"I don't have biases toward LGBT people" ---Do not stop there. Go beyond that. What's needed now is to notice discomfort in everyday life, rethink what is considered “normal” by ourselves and by society, and turn these insights into action. To change society starting from Waseda, we speak our minds, loud and strong. We hope Queering Waseda! Pride Weeks 2025 will become an opportunity for change.
