I helped out in the British Night at the ICC, organised for mid-November. The event was a lot of fun and I got to meet other students as 4 of us were speaking at the event, as well as many others that attended.
I’ve been to ICC events but being on the organising side was a lot of fun! We were well prepared and had enough meetings that I was comfortable in what we had to do, though that didn’t stop the nerves. I had the chance to speak briefly about the overall makeup of the UK and a brief history and tourist information, which was really fun to put together and deliver! More so because the event was really well-attended; I was expecting 30 people but around 100 turned up!
I was really glad to do something to support the University and feel involved when I was in Japan and this was such a great, fun and simple way to do that! I would definitely love to support with the ICC again- all the staff and students are extremely friendly, events are well organised and things are considered with the audience in mind, so they get the most out of it! It was a lot of fun and I would recommend to others to try.
