ICC Italian Culture & Music Night – Find out the attraction of Italy through its food, music and more! – (June 17)

Poster

With 48 million tourists a year, Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Its beautiful and diverse landscape, its ancient heritage and art treasures as well as its delicious national cuisine never ceases to charm its visitors.

Italy only became a unified state in 1861, and as a result, a variety of local and regional customs and traditions coexist together, manifesting in a wide range of dialects, cuisines and lifestyles. Through this event, participants will have a chance to find out more about what this country has to offer.

We will start with a presentation illustrating the attraction of studying abroad in Italy, followed by a beginners’ Italian language lesson where students from Italy will be teaching you some basic but useful phrases that come in handy when you actually visit the country. You will then have the opportunity to join an olive oil seminar as well as a tasting session, experiencing the important role that olive oil plays in Italians’ daily life. After that, there will be a music performance provided by a professional opera singer and pianist.

Finally, you will be able to mingle with Italian students, lecturers, performers and other participants during the café time, and there will be some Italian authentic delicacies such as wood-fired pizza, focaccia and cured ham provided for free. Don’t miss out the opportunity to feel like you are in Italy without leaving Tokyo!
