Come join the ICC Japanese Cultural Week, which will have a variety of fun and interesting events to let you experience Japanese culture.
Events such as “Waseda Student Tour”, “Discover Tokyo!”, “Yukata Trying-on & Tea Ceremony”, “TOMODACHI Cafe”, and “Japanese Chat Hour” will be held.
Make new friends, get the essential info about Waseda student life, and get the full Japanese cultural experience. New students and upper class students are both highly welcome!

Discover Tokyo!
Make new friends while finding out more about Tokyo!
At “Discover Tokyo!”, work in teams with other Waseda students to create your perfect one day trip around Tokyo. Various maps and brochures will also be available for your use!

Yukata Trying-on & Tea Ceremony
Enjoy Japanese culture by wearing a Yukata, a traditional garment usually worn for summer festivals. You can either choose to take a seat on tatami and revitalize yourself through the meditative tea ceremony.

Wanna meet and chat with local Japanese students?
Wanna make friends with new international students?
Then come along to the TOMODACHI Cafe! It’s a great opportunity for students of all nationalities to mingle and have a casual chat.
Practice your Japanese or brush up on your English. Everyone’s invited to this fun get-together! There’ll be themed topics to chat about but free talk is also fine too. Expand your circle of friends here at Waseda over some free drinks and special Japanese snacks!

Now that you’re in Japan, try using your Japanese!
Practice makes perfect, so take every chance you can get, like the ICC’s Japanese Hour! Meet with local and other international students to get Japanese speaking practice and to make new friends. Everyone, from beginners to advanced, is encouraged to come!
