As some of the most famous cultures of Japan, their popularity is growing all over the world.
The ICC has invited Ms. Liyuu, a major figure in this arena, to Waseda for a special talk session. She will talk about her background, the appeal of subculture, and the secrets to success globally while interacting with different cultures.
Originally from Shanghai, Ms. Liyuu is a singer, cosplayer and voice actress represented by HoriPro International Inc. She is popular not only in Japan but around the world, having over 6oo,ooo Twitter followers and more than 1 million followers on Weibo.
Liyuu left her hometown with admiration for Japanese anime and has now created a huge movement in the field. This event will be a priceless opportunity to discuss how to prepare yourself for the global society and how to interact with different cultures from Ms. Liyuu’s unique perspective.

A 25-year-old singer and cosplayer from Shanghai. With over 2.2 million total followers on social media, she has huge popularity among cosplay fans around the world.
On January 22, 2020, she made her debut as a singer with “Magic Words,” the theme song for the TV anime “Hatena☆Illusion.” On February 11, 2022, she held her first solo concert “Liyuu First Concert 2022 ‘Fo(u)r YuU'” at the Pacifico Yokohama National Hall. The bilibili live-stream in China was watched by approximately 7,000 viewers, which ranked first in the history of live-streamed concerts from Japan.
In addition to her solo activities, she also plays Keke Tang, a member of ‘Liella!’ in “Love Live! Superstar!!”
