Oman is a country located on the eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. Located at the strategic point for trade between the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, the capital Muscat has a long history as a world-class trading port. Oman has developed its own unique culture and occupies an important position in the Middle East through an all-round good-neighbor diplomacy.
Did you know that Oman is actually one of Japan’s closest friends in the world? His Majesty the Sultan Qaboos is famous for the generous aid provided after the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011.
This event will show you the charms of Oman! Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Dr. Al-Busaidi, will introduce Oman’s history and culture. There will also be presentations by Omani students on daily life, Arabic language and dialect, and a quiz competition with prizes related to Oman!
And as a bonus for attending this still rare in-person event, participants will also receive a Oman-inspired mini gift!
The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Oman. Why not experience Oman through all five senses?
Don’t miss it!
