Research Summary
It is well-known that appropriate nutritional intake is essential for athletes to maintain optimal physical condition and improve performance, regardless of gender or age. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp the status of nutritional intake and physiological functions of Japanese athletes, identify issues, and establish evidence-based “nutrition and dietary guidelines for Japanese athletes” based on research findings through cross-sectional studies and dietary intervention research, with the aim of applying these results to the sports field. The Institute, established in 2013, is the first in Japan to specialize in sports nutrition, and is actively promoting research in collaboration with external research institutions, researchers, and several companies.
