Course Evaluations

For the purpose of improving the quality of education and classes, to give student course evaluation survey feedback to course instructors, departments, graduate schools, and academic centers, the Center for Higher Education Studies conducts student course evaluation surveys for all students. Survey results are processed and collected with a method that does not identify individual respondents, and a results table is given to course instructors as feedback. In line with the above aim of improving the quality of education and classes, the results of the survey may be used for research purposes by the Center for Higher Education and by the undergraduate and graduate schools. The research may be published externally in the form of academic papers (and other forms), but even in this case the individual respondents will not be identifiable.
Also, in accordance to Waseda Vision 150 – Core Strategy 3 “Educational Content Open to the Public in Many Languages”, to increase the transparency, understanding, and rating of Waseda University’s educational activities, we are working to widely publicize the University’s educational and learning content to applicants, parents, students, and society. For this purpose, we are releasing the student course evaluation survey results of the count on the Center for Higher Education Studies homepage. Also, part of this information may be made public on other Waseda University homepages, the syllabus, faculty members’ personal websites, etc.
The survey results will be used only for the above purposes. With the above aims and purposes in mind, we ask for your cooperation in responding to the survey. Furthermore, your survey responses and whether or not you responded to the survey will not put your grades at a disadvantage under any circumstances.
